How a cancellation actually unfolds
Day before · around 12:00
Civil Aviation Authority decision
Green flag means flights are approved. Red flag means flights are cancelled for the next morning.
If cancelled
We contact you immediately
By WhatsApp and email. We confirm your availability for the following day and reserve your spot before opening new bookings.
Next morning
Pickup or live update
If your flight is rescheduled and confirmed, we arrive at your hotel about 1.5 hours before sunrise. If conditions shift overnight, you hear from us before that pickup.
If needed
Full refund within 48 hours
If we cannot rebook you to a date that works, the full payment is refunded. No questions, no friction.
We do not promise zero cost on rescheduled dates. Operators may treat rescheduled bookings as new bookings if the new date is at peak pricing. We always offer a full refund as the alternative. This is the honest reality of the sector. Most operators do not say it out loud.

We have operated since 1999. We have never left a guest stranded.
Refund & rescheduling
If weather cancels your morning.
Reschedule first. We move you to the next flyable morning at no cost — your flight, just on a different sunrise.
If you cannot stay, full refund. No questions, no fine print, no admin fees.
Civil Aviation rules apply. The authority's clearance is the go or no-go signal. Pilots and operators execute that clearance and hold the safety responsibility for the flight itself.
Most online travel agencies bury this in their terms. We surface it.
What every guest should know
How balloon flights work in Cappadocia.
Two morning slots
Cappadocia balloon flights happen in the morning only — first the main sunrise launch (up to 100 balloons), then a secondary slot right after for the rest of the fleet. No afternoon flights; that's how the airspace is regulated.
230 days a year
Cappadocia averages around 230 flyable days annually — among the highest of any major balloon destination worldwide.
May–October peak season
May, June, July, August, September, and October are the high-probability months — most stable winds, highest green-flag rates, and the most predictable weather across the year.

Insider knowledge
Expert tips for booking Cappadocia balloon tours.
What 26 years of operating in this airspace has taught us.
Book the first morning of your stay
Weather is the only real risk in Cappadocia. If we cancel on day 1, you still have day 2, 3, or 4 as backup. Booking your last morning eliminates contingency — most disappointed guests are the ones who left only one window.
Stay in Göreme or Üçhisar
Both villages sit beside all three launch sectors. Pickup is around 4:00 AM — every minute of sleep counts. Cave hotels here also offer the best photo opportunities for the balloons rising over the valleys.
May to October has the highest success rate
These six months see the most stable winds and predictable weather. July and August are warmest but most crowded — book at least two months ahead. April and November are lovely but more weather-dependent.
Book directly with the operator, not OTAs
Most online aggregators add 15–30% markup and bury cancellation policies in their terms. Direct booking means a better price, faster refunds when weather cancels, and a real human on the other end of WhatsApp at 4:00 AM if needed.
Layers, not heavy jackets
Ground temperature can be 5°C in May or October mornings, but the basket warms up from the burner heat. T-shirt + light sweater + windbreaker is ideal. Closed shoes always — no sandals, no heels.
Position yourself on the sunrise side
When boarding, move toward the east side of the basket if you want the best photos. The sun rises behind you, lighting up the fairy chimneys ahead. Ask your pilot — they will guide you.
The champagne ceremony is real
Every balloon flight ends with a champagne toast — a tradition since 1783 (the Montgolfier brothers, France). If you don't drink, juice and water are provided. Don't skip the ritual; it's part of the experience.
Don't book back-to-back activities the same morning
If you've scheduled an ATV tour or hike at 9:00 AM and the balloon gets cancelled at 4:30 AM, you've wasted both. Give your balloon morning a flexible day — light breakfast, slow exploration, recover from the early start.
