Brief Itinerary

Discover the top sights of North Cappadocia, including Devrent Valley, Paşabağ (Monks Valley), Zelve Open Air Museum, Çavuşin village, Avanos, and Uçhisar Castle, on a full-day guided tour.

Detailed Itinerary:

You will be picked up from your hotel at 09:30 AM to begin this unforgettable journey through North Cappadocia. The first stop is Devrent Valley, famous for its unusual rock formations that create an otherworldly landscape. As you explore the valley, you will encounter rock formations resembling animals, creating a natural sculpture zoo.

Next, visit Paşabag (Monks Valley), home to some of the most iconic fairy chimneys in Cappadocia, including the unique "mushroom-shaped" formations. Afterward, head to Avanos, a town renowned for its pottery-making tradition, which dates back to the Hittite era. Here, you can witness local artisans crafting pottery from the red clay sourced from the Kızılırmak River, Turkey’s longest river.

Following a lunch break, continue to the historic Zelve Open Air Museum, where you will explore ancient churches, chapels, and monasteries carved into fairy chimneys from the 10th to 13th centuries. The day concludes with panoramic views of the surrounding valleys and a visit to the impressive Uçhisar Castle, offering breathtaking views of Cappadocia’s unique landscape. You will then be transferred back to your hotel. End of services.

We care

This experience is designed for travelers who would like to enjoy two of Cappadocia’s most iconic experiences in one day: a sunrise hot air balloon ride in the early morning, followed later by the North Cappadocia Highlights Tour (Red Tour).

✦ A typical day follows this structure:

✦ Around 05:00 AM – Early hotel pick-up for the balloon flight

Your day begins very early in the morning with hotel pick-up for your Classic sunrise balloon flight. The exact pick-up time may vary slightly depending on the season and final operational planning, but it is usually in the early morning hours before sunrise.

✦ Around 08:00 AM – Return to the hotel after the balloon flight

After landing and the traditional celebration, you will be transferred back to your hotel. This gives you time to rest, freshen up, and enjoy breakfast before the daytime tour begins.

✦ Around 10:00 AM – Pick-up for the Red Tour

Later in the morning, you will be picked up again from your hotel to begin your North Cappadocia Highlights Tour (Red Tour).

The first stop is Devrent Valley, known for its unusual rock formations and dreamlike landscape. As you walk through the valley, you will notice natural rock shapes that resemble animals and other imaginative forms.

Next, continue to Paşabağ (Monks Valley), home to some of Cappadocia’s most iconic fairy chimneys, including the famous mushroom-shaped formations.

The tour then continues to Avanos, a town known for its long pottery-making tradition dating back to ancient times. Here, you can see local artisans working with the red clay of the Kızılırmak River, the longest river in Turkey.

✦ Around 01:00 PM – Lunch break

A lunch break is included during the Red Tour.

After lunch, continue to Zelve Open Air Museum, where you can explore ancient churches, chapels, and monastic spaces carved into the soft volcanic rock.

The tour later continues with panoramic views over Cappadocia’s dramatic landscape and a visit to Uçhisar Castle, one of the region’s best-known natural landmarks.

✦ Around 04:00 PM – Return to the hotel / End of services

At the end of the tour, you will be transferred back to your hotel.

This same-day combination is ideal for guests who want to make the most of their time in Cappadocia by experiencing both the sunrise from the air and the region’s highlights on the ground in one well-organized itinerary.

Please note that the timing of this program may vary throughout the year, as balloon flight schedules are adjusted according to seasonal sunrise times and daily operational planning.
